Atrioventricular canal mimicking tricuspid atresia: echocardiographic and angiographic features.
نویسنده
چکیده
In a rare case of common atrioventricular canal mimicking tricuspid atresia the clinical, radiographic, electrocardiographic, and M mode echocardiographic features were indistinguishable from those of classic tricuspid atresia. The cross sectional echocardiographic appearance and right atrial cineangiographic features were distinctive, however, and can be used to discriminate between this anomaly and other types of tricuspid atresia.

Recognition of imperforate atrioventricular valves by two dimensional echocardiography.
The majority of hearts in which selective right or left atrial angiography shows no direct communication between one atrium and a ventricular chamber are considered to be examples of atresia of the right or left atrioventricular valves. Most patients presenting with the clinical features of tricuspid atresia have an absent right atrioventricular connection, while those with features of mitral a...
متن کاملThe reliability and practicality of single crystal echocardiography in the evaluation of single ventricle. Angiographic and pathological correlates.
A prospective clinical and echocardiographic diagnosis of single ventricle was made in 42 patients. Each was evaluated for the number of atrioventricular (A/V) valves, presence of an outflow chamber (OC), A/V valve-semilunar continuity, and orientation of the great arteries. Angiographic correlations were subsequently obtained in 40 and autopsies in 12. The overall diagnosis of single ventricle...
متن کاملAbsent tricuspid valve with aortic atresia in mixed levocardia (atria situs solitus, L-loop). A hitherto undescribed entity.
Clinical, angiographic and pathologic features are described in a 36-hour-old male infant with mixed (discordant) levocardia, aortic valve atresia, absent tricuspid (left atrioventricular) valve and resultant massive cardiomegaly. This is the first reported case of this type of complex in a heart with discordant chambers. A possible embryologic explanation is offered for the concomitant presenc...

متن کاملUnderstanding atrioventricular septal defect: Anatomoechocardiographic correlation
OBJECTIVE Correlate the anatomic features of atrioventricular septal defect with echocardiographic images. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty specimen hearts were studied by sequential segmental analysis. Echocardiograms were performed on 34 patients. Specimen hearts with findings equivalent to those of echocardiographic images were selected in order to establish an anatomo-echocardiographic correla...
